Bah - why do papers about gender in computer science bundle together "women_and_ethnic_minorities"? Why would women have more in common with native americans as a group (say) than men (as a group)? It's too big a bucket of people to make generalisations about surely? Maybe they should write "people who are not geeky white blokes" and have done with it.
